Glass, design and fairytale imagery are the protagonists of the 7th edition of Altare Vetro Design.
This year the exhibition features works by Alessandra Baldereschi. Her works are based on fairytale imagery, with bright colors and enveloping lines, and natural subjects in which the colors suggest forests and gardens.
Exploiting the expressive potential of an evocative material like glass, the designer has created an original collection of objects for the show in Altare, Botanica Fantastica: glasses and cups that take their cue from the models used in biology labs to illustrate the various parts of plants and flowers.
The collection has been produced in blown glass by the French master Jean-Marie Bertaina, who has worked in the demonstration glassworks of the museum in Altare for years.
The show also includes other imaginative creations by the Milanese artist, like the precious button-jewels in the form of a stylized leaf that can be used as pins or pendants, in warm hues of green and orange.
